Industrial Solution Scale Model With LED Display

A high-fidelity industrial scale model with LED display, showcasing an industrial cooling solution for immersive data center product visualization
1. Project Background
Visualizing The Infrastructure Behind Data Center Cooling

Modern data centers rely on sophisticated cooling and heat-rejection systems to maintain stable operating conditions and ensure the reliability of critical IT infrastructure.

However, complex cooling equipment and system configurations can be difficult to communicate through conventional product displays, technical drawings or brochures.

For exhibitions, customer presentations and technology demonstrations, the challenge was to create a physical display that could clearly communicate not only what the equipment looks like, but also how the system operates and where it is used.

VertiModel developed a customized exhibition model combining high-fidelity physical equipment models, illuminated system-flow visualization, large-format LED displays and custom 3D application content.

2. Project Challenge
How To Make A Complex Cooling System Easy To Understand?

A data center cooling solution typically involves multiple types of equipment working together as an integrated system.

Simply displaying individual equipment models would not fully communicate:

  • How the cooling system is configured
  • How heat is transferred and rejected
  • How different components work together
  • Where the equipment is deployed within a data center
  • How the overall system supports data center operations

The exhibition display therefore needed to combine physical realism, system visualization and application storytelling within a compact and portable format.

3. VertiModel Solution
A Physical + Digital Exhibition System For Data Center Cooling

VertiModel created a high-fidelity scale model representing a complete data center cooling and heat-rejection solution.

The exhibition system integrates four key elements:

High-Fidelity Physical Scale Models
Detailed miniature representations of the cooling equipment and supporting infrastructure.

Illuminated System Visualization
LED lighting integrated into the model to visually represent cooling, heat-transfer and heat-rejection flows.

Four-Sided LED Display Base
A 1m × 1m four-sided LED display structure surrounding the lower section of the model.

Custom 3D Application Animation
Customized 3D animation content showing the equipment in real-world data center environments and explaining its application scenarios.

Together, these elements transform a technically complex cooling solution into an intuitive, three-dimensional storytelling experience.

4. High-Fidelity Physical Model
Recreating The Cooling System At An Exhibition Scale

The physical model reproduces key equipment and system components used in data center cooling applications.

Rather than presenting isolated equipment, the model reconstructs the relationship between the major components as an integrated system.

The high level of detail allows visitors to examine:

  • Equipment configuration
  • Piping connections
  • System layout
  • Heat-rejection equipment
  • Cooling infrastructure
  • Component relationships

The physical model provides a tangible representation of the technology, allowing visitors to understand the system spatially and visually.

5. Illuminated System-Flow Visualization
Making Invisible Thermal Processes Visible

One of the key features of the model is the integration of illuminated LED piping.

Different colors of light are used to visually represent different thermal-flow paths within the system, creating an intuitive visual language for communicating the cooling and heat-rejection process.

Instead of relying solely on technical diagrams, visitors can immediately see the simulated flow through the physical model.

This approach helps transform an otherwise invisible engineering process into a visible and engaging exhibition experience.

6. Four-Sided 1m × 1m LED Display Base
Extending The Physical Model Into A Digital Experience

The physical model is mounted on a customized four-sided LED display base, with each display surface measuring approximately W1m × H1m.

The LED screens provide a large visual canvas for customized application content, including:

  • Data center environments
  • Equipment application scenarios
  • 3D system visualization
  • Product features and technologies
  • Cooling process demonstrations
  • Customer-specific marketing content

While the physical model communicates the system itself, the surrounding LED displays communicate where and how the system is used.

This creates a continuous visual connection between the physical equipment and its real-world application.

7. Custom 3D Digital Content
From Equipment Display To Application Storytelling

To complement the physical model, VertiModel developed customized 3D animation content for the LED displays.

The digital content places the cooling equipment within realistic data center environments, allowing visitors to move from the physical representation of the equipment to its actual application scenario.

The combination enables a simple communication sequence:

Equipment → System → Application → Value

This makes the exhibition model particularly suitable for technical demonstrations, customer meetings, trade shows and sales presentations.

8. Designed For Portable Exhibition Deployment
A Professional Display System Built For Mobility

Because industrial exhibition models are often transported between exhibitions, customer sites and demonstration events, portability was an important part of the design.

The complete system was engineered with transportation and deployment in mind.

A customized aviation flight case was developed to protect the model and LED display system during transportation.

The flight case features a side-opening structure and integrated sliding rails, allowing the LED model system to be quickly pulled out from the case and deployed at the exhibition venue.

This design significantly simplifies:

  • Transportation
  • Unpacking
  • Model deployment
  • Exhibition setup
  • Storage and relocation

The solution combines the visual impact of a large exhibition installation with the mobility required for repeated professional deployment.

9. Physical + Digital Integration
A New Way To Explain Complex Cooling Technology

The project demonstrates how physical models and digital media can work together to communicate sophisticated industrial technologies.

The physical model provides:

Tangible Understanding
Visitors can directly observe the equipment, system configuration and piping layout.

Process Visualization
Integrated lighting makes the simulated thermal-flow process visible.

Application Context
Four-sided LED screens place the technology within realistic data center environments.

Immersive Communication
